Have any of you felt the same way as you’ve tried to book a showing of VAXXED: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe in your hometown or support a screening that somebody had already set up?
I think the most disappointing of the group was a friend who is a fellow attorney and not only did we go to high school, college, AND law school together, but this friend is such a bleeding heart that I don’t think there has been a single injustice over the past thirty-five years that he has not expressed an outrage about. However, it seems that I am the exception.
I have been astounded by the response of some long-time friends who when I say, “Hey, there’s this documentary about a whistle-blower at the CDC and the cover-up of the link between vaccines and autism, do you want to come and see it?” They act like I’m denying the existence of God. No, scratch that. If I asked them to come to a movie about an atheist, I’d get a better response. In very poignant emails back to me they have said that they will not even put at risk their “fugitive and cloistered virtue” (to steal from the poet, John Milton) by exposing themselves to the possibility that the government is lying to them.
Arghhh…
How is it that my REALLY SMART friends can be so blind? Is there some unique form of stupidity that comes with high educational achievement? Here’s what would impress me. If they said, “Yes, Kent, I will come.” And like a juror who looks at a case with an open mind, they considered the evidence, maybe did some of their own research, then said to me, “Kent, here’s why I don’t agree with the film. Here are some scientific articles that show non-vaccinated children have autism at the same rate as vaccinated children.” Intellectually, I would respect that. The reason they don’t is because such studies don’t exist. Instead, they simply say something like, “Well, Dr. Moron says people like you are dangerous.”
Okay, I understand that’s what Dr. Moron says. Does Dr. Moron have any studies to show me? No? Then how about coming to watch a documentary which has some actual facts, like the RECORDED CONFESSIONS OF A SENIOR CDC SCIENTIST!
I’m not asking them to smoke crystal meth!
I’m just asking them to watch a documentary that has an 83% positive audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes and for my money plays like an extended 60 Minutes story.
I always loved those stories where crusading investigative journalists put some malefactor on the hot seat and grilled him with probing questions. But today’s investigative journalists seem more like paid celebrity spokesman.
Fifty thousand children will be diagnosed with autism this year. More than a million suffer with this disease. Many will die in the coming weeks and months when they wander away from their exhausted caregivers and drown in a lake or river of from exposure to elements they don’t fully understand. Can’t your heart bleed a little for that? Isn’t there just the smallest sliver of doubt in your mind when the scientific authorities tell you not to panic and that these children have always been with us? Really? Did your grandparents tell you about the autistic children in their school? Can’t you remember those pictures from the Dust Bowl of families on the move, and one of the kids is sitting there flapping his hands?
Oh, that’s right, it never happened.
It never happened because autism is SOMETHING NEW! That’s why most of you can remember when you saw Rainman in 1988 and said to yourself, “Wow, that’s a weird disease. I’m glad it’s rare.”
But if some longtime friends won’t even lower themselves to see a documentary, I say good riddance. I’ll catch you later. Much later. In the meantime, the showing I have scheduled for VAXXED in my hometown of San Ramon, CA has already sold 68 tickets, which guarantees the showing! There are just 56 tickets left to fill the theater. And that’s for a showing scheduled on Thursday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Crow Canyon Cinemas!

Thanks Ken. There is a certain willful blindness that comes with education. Most standard education directly involves learning and repeating what others have said and done. I have never once heard a PhD or college professor say “… question everything I’m saying.” Quite to the contrary. This theme doesn’t stop after graduation.
Why are people afraid of challenging ideas? Maybe because nearly all of us from the Baby Boomer generation on, is (to a greater or lesser extent) vaccine injured and neurologically damaged by fluoride. I like to refer to people like Kent’s friend as Orthodox vaxxers or cult vaxxers due to their blind faith in a belief system despite contadictory evidence. If you blindly follow the pharmaceutical companies’ doctrine without researching, investigating or even questioning the ideals, you are practicing a religion- not science!
I truly know exactly what you are speaking of. Throughout the past 20+ years, I have been shocked, amazed and completely baffled at the response when approaching the vaccine debate with friends who I believed to be bright, open minded, critical thinkers some with advanced professional degrees and some very successful. It seems I can have discussions about politics, religion and other sensitive topics easily and openly except for this issue of vaccines and the debate of all the angles surrounding the entire issue. The conversation becomes uncomfortable, defensive, off limits and/or insulting. One must come to the conclusion that the brain washing runs so far and so deep that we are literally asking our “friends” to question something so taboo and contradictory to their very reality and existence as a member of our species on this planet that they will say anything to defend or ignore any other possibilities that their entire reality may have to be questioned and then they might actually may have to ask themselves some very disturbing questions and form an opinion that may be detrimental to their psyche and their entire perception of reality in our society and then do something about it… such as stand for something and speak out about it and risk the same ridicule and attacks that many of us questioners of vaccine safety have faced. From my experience, it is much easier for one who has personally witnessed the severe damage of vaccine injury in their family to accept the possibility that vaccine are dangerous. Over the past year or two I have seen a shift and that is mostly with either pregnant women and new moms, mostly young who are open to exploring both sides of the debate. Some people are just too comfortable in our societies indoctrinated reality to face that their government and their scientists and Doctors may be lying to them and they cannot all be brain washed as well so it’s easier to just categorize and marginalize the vaccine questioners as tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist. Sadly, it appears that the masses may only wake up when 50% of our babies and children are suffering some level of brain injury from vaccines which, at the current trends, is not too far off in our future. I pray this isn’t the case however over the years I have lost a lot of hope. I often ponder what these people will say or do when our society becomes so overwhelmed with a reduction of our workforce and a massive part of our population needs permantent daily care, therapies and support from the tax payers that are left in our dwindled workforce? The impact will undeniable and felt so deeply what will they do?
Kent: Thank you for this. Shocking, but not surprising, how effective propaganda is. Our local Gathr screening never got enough tickets sold, to my chagrin. I may take you up on the invitation; it’s about a 3 hour Amtrak ride, always pleasant.
Not to nitpick but the film actually has a 33% Rotten Tomatoes rating (and an even worse 27% on MetaCritic.) Unless you’re talking about the “user rating” which is a bogus rating. Even Batman which had 27% rating on rotten tomatoes had a relatively high user rating. Same true for Suicide Squad coming Friday which is getting CRUSHED in the real ratings and will have a high user rating.
Nothing wrong with promoting a film, but please be clear on where you got your numbers.
Once again you have entered the argument from another angle. Why do we continue? It is not to convince the unconvincable, but to protect the children who will be vaccinated tomorrow and the next day and the next day. We see our future being slowly destroyed. Kent: I appreciate this since I have been concerned about vaccines for the past 39 years when my first child was born. Not only can I not convince some “friends” to see the film, I could not even convince my unvaccinated son and his pregant wife to join me last night at our local vaxxed gathr. My daughter-in-law explained that she “comes from a vaccinating family.” Maybe I need some new kids!!!

I try to have compassion for these pro-vax people who want so desperately to remain in their comfortable cocoon of denial and delusions about vaccination.
I can look back and see how brainwashed I once was about vaccines. I can also remember plenty of times when I read that this or that (e.g. chlorinated water, fluoride, excitotoxins…) was “dangerous to your health” and I just didn’t have the energy and strength then to face another danger and change my life to avoid it. I would turn my head away over and over, thinking “It probably isn’t true and even if it is, what can I do about it?” I myself have wanted to stay in my comfortable cocoon of denial, many times.
But after hearing about that danger to my health from ten or twelve or fifteen or more different sources, over a year or two or three…I would eventually come to a point of thinking “There must be something to this.” Then someday I’d open an article about the subject, written by some author I trusted, and start learning. And start changing my life, usually in steps, not leaps.
When my child was vaccine injured about 14 years ago, a friend recommended Vierra Scheibner’s book “Vaccination: The Medical Assault on the Immune System.” She recommended it because my daughter’s adverse reaction was “cycling” — every time I thought she was finally getting over it, she’d have another downturn. My friend recommended this book because it precisely described this cycling of vaccine reactions.
But I read the whole book — and had tremendous trouble wrapping my brain around Scheibner’s conclusion that vaccines have NEVER been effective, and that they have killed and injured countless babies, children, and adults. After hundreds of hours of study over 14 years’ time, I am finally comfortable and confident saying “Vaccines don’t work, with the exception that some anti-toxoids prevent symptoms from the toxins particular bacteria produce. And every single dose of every vaccine does damage, in a variety of ways, often disabling or killing or causing chronic illness.”
I say, we have to keep talking to these defensive pro-vaxxers. Give them small doses of truth along with large doses of hope that they CAN do something to avoid the danger…and help them learn that the dangers of common diseases like measles have been tremendously exaggerated. It really is safer to have these diseases, or let your child have them, than to take refuge in vaccination.
Acknowledge to them your own “sinking feelings” (and all your other feelings) as you try to cope with the enormity of what we all are learning. Be one of the ten or twelve or fifteen voices that eventually bring them to open the door to truth, take a look, and leave it open rather than slamming it shut.
Please, find yourself new friends, but don’t abandon your old friends to the lies and manipulation of the vaccine empire.

I gave those EXACT numbers Virginia.
And yes audience ratings are bogus. Suicide Squad, currently 27% in the tomatometer with over 250 reviews counted and one of the worst reviewed films of the year is at a 72% audience rating.
This is par for the course for Rotten Tomatoes because die-hard “fanboys” inflate the audience numbers on purpose, regardless. There’s even an online petition against rotten tomatoes by fans of DC comics because of the rating.
My point is saying a film has an 83% audience rating on rotten tomatoes is meaningless. The film may be incredible still, but not because of that rating.
If you don’t believe me still I can list a hundred films with a high audience rating that are considered horrible and that you would agree are.
Thanks to Natural News I have become far more aware over the past several years on the issues of fluoride, GMO, HFCS, statins and vaccines. I’ve read a lot on vaccines and seen many of the videos and have come to the conclusion that they are the biggest money making hoax ever. Flu shot? Err…no thanks!
So, in chatting with a highly intelligent professor of thermodynamics I was amazed at how virulently pro vaccine he was. He strongly believes that vaccines are scientifically proven to be of benefit. But he has done no research on the matter. He has give quite a few lectures on how Global Warming caused by man is nonsense so he has the intelligence to see through some issues but vaccines are not one of them.
The pharmaceutical industry controls a large percentage of the world’s media and is relentless in ensuring their lies about the effectiveness of vaccines doesn’t gain a hold in the minds of people. So most people, even supposedly really intelligent ones, have been totally brainwashed.
Thank you so much for your thoughts on these people that “seem to close their ears to this subject.” I just had a conversation with a friend about this trying to figure out the reasons. Have we become so terribly “brain washed” that we can’t seem to “think for ourselves” anymore? I am in my 60s and never even heard of autism, let alone knowing anyone with it. It is very sad and I worry about my g-kids and great g-kids. We need to wake up in this country!
Thank you! And, yes, the reactions I’m getting are similar. In fact, our local screening has been cancelled. AMC corporate has just cancelled all screenings of VAXXED (something about “continued violation of promotional rules”).
A lot of these people close minded have already vaccinated their children. Plus, they have spent years being indoctrinated NEVER to question “authority.” (Unless it is in a joke tee shirt or wall poster.) You are asking them to consider that they may have exposed the most precious people in their lives to real danger, due to ignorance of true facts, that are being hidden from them. This is a battle that is being waged on a number of fronts right now- the interests of the monied elite, who use “science” and other mere tools of mankind, to hold hostages- aganist those hostages that have come to depend upon the systems that the monied elite have designed to continue the flow of money, power and ego boost to the elite; themselves. There is a bigger picture here. Do we want to win a battle here and there, or address the larger war? Been thinking about that lately…
Same experience, here….about the only people I can get to listen are those who have an autistic child in their family! I’m thankful that my mother, a nurse, saw a lot of problems with what Drs and other nurses were doing and, inadvertently taught me to realize that, if They were wrong, they didn’t have much to lose. But, I sure did! God only gives us one body during this life, and we need to take responsibility for it. Not hand it off to someone else! Of course, there are times we need help, that’s a given. But, to blindly trust those who will not suffer consequences if they make a mistake?
