(2)  Big Pharma’s Influence in Congress…

Bernie and Donald AGREE On The “Big Pharma” Issue…

So why can’t we solve this problem, like yesterday?

Opinion by “Deplorable” Consumer Advocate Tim Bolen

Lately, there has been speculation that there might have been influence by Big Pharma to BLOCK changes to the Health Care System, during the “Repeal and Replace ObamaCare” action.

Of course there was – it never stops.  Aren’t there FIVE Pharma lobbyists for every Congressman now?

But it Is Nothing New…

Back in 2009 when the Obama-Nation was supposedly FIXING American Health Care Bill Moyers on PBS TV hit the nail right on the head when he made this five minute video just below.  He pointed out that that would end up as ObamaCare completely favored the industry it was supposed to regulate – and SCREWED the American Public.

The only thing that has changed since 2009 is the amount of money spent since then, including the manipulation by Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, and cronies, to KEEP the US Health Care system this way.

But President Trump has already indicated that he will cross Party lines to get America on track.  On health care he won’t have to look very far to get agreement about what is REALLY WRONG with American Health Care – BIG PHARMA.

Watch what Bill Moyers says in 2009:

Let me point out here that Bill Moyers is on the opposite side of the political spectrum from me, and certainly Donald Trump.  BUT, notice that we ALL agree on the problem…

What Bernie says:

In a February 2017 article in the Washington Post it shows:

Bernie Sanders takes another swing at big pharma with bill to allow drug imports:

Opening a new front in the war against big pharma, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and a slew of Democratic colleagues introduced a bill Tuesday to allow commercial importation of drugs from Canada.

The appeal is obvious; through cheap imported drugs, the United States would be able to take advantage of the government levers and regulation that other countries have used to bring down pharmaceutical prices. It’s a far more politically palatable way to attack the problem of soaring drug prices than opening up an even more contentious fight over whether the U.S. government should meddle directly in pricing — and it has had wide popular and bipartisan support, including from Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump during the presidential campaign.

A drug importation amendment was advanced during the budget resolution vote in the Senate in January. It was rejected, with 13 Democrats voting against the measure. Four of those who voted against the amendment signed on as co-sponsors of the bill.

In an afternoon news conference unveiling the bill, Democratic and independent lawmakers threw down the gauntlet, calling on President Trump — who has repeatedly said that he will do something to rein in rising drug prices — to support their effort.

“I want to finally say about our president, who has said a lot of talk about health care and has recently confessed how ‘complicated’ he thinks it is. He has made promises to the American people about prescription drug prices; he has made promises to the American people, and now it’s time for him to put up or shut up,” said Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who joined as a co-sponsor after voting against drug importation when it was an amendment. “It’s time for him to join with us, or, in my opinion, to confess his lies to the American people.”

The bill was immediately criticized by pharmaceutical industry’s trade group, which argued that the policy could cause patient harm if bogus and possibly unsafe drugs make it to the market.”

So, you might ask, where are Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell on this  issue?

Solidly in Big Pharma’s camp.

To me “Medicare-for-All” as described in the meme above is a REALLY BAD idea. Why? Because then “the government” would DICTATE who gets what in the way of health care – and THAT is really scary.   Just picture, for a moment, what health care a “Hillary Clinton” type would proscribe for Red States that did not contribute to the Clinton Foundation…

It is time for a bi-partisan approach to solving the health care issue.

Yes, the liberal Democrats are COMPLETLEY STUPID when it comes to vaccines.  Except for our friend Bobby Kennedy Jr, NONE of them get it.  Democrats, as a whole, LOVE the idea of lining people up and regulating them completely.  BIG GOVERNMENT, with “an Elite” group (them) running things is what they are.

BUT, here in 2017, even the Democrats have begun to realize that Big Pharma is out of control – somebody probably mass-printed it on the side of  a Starbucks cup?

We need to make Big Pharma into Little Pharma.

More, we need to target every Senator and Congressman, no matter what political party they belong to, that acts on Big Pharma’s behalf – smashing their political careers.

Stay tuned…

  1. Wow! Telling like it is. And the Big take–away.: We who are the democratic Republic of the US , regardless of the alliance to the right or left: We who love this Nation must unite in the common goal of raising our country from the hole Obama, the clinton woman and their cronies put us in. The communist faction haters and NGO republican supporters must be part of the swamp cleaning. Robert Kennedy is a shinny example of s Democrat putting the American people first. We must learn to recognize and sift through the Democratic Party the haters destroyers and the builders. Our President, is leading the way.

  2. Stop drug ads, make Big Pharma pay for drug reaction costs and no one pays for a drug that does not work. Money back guarantee. I will not buy a nutritional supplement without a money back guarantee, why should I or an insurance company pay for drugs that don’t work. Most have less than a 20% efficacy rating and some are no better than the placebo effect and that is if you believe Big Pharma’s data. Time to go after the real drug lords in the US.

  3. Here in Ohio, there’s Issue 2 on the ballot to demand that the state use the drug prices paid by the Veterans Admin as the only price they would accept from the drug companies…… hmmm… the nurses and such unionized bunch are opposed and say it would be impossible to implement and not solve anybody else’s problem… WELL. suppose we just had the Canadians **do a webpage** like the Medicare pages for hospital charges, and forget about importing what Canada probably imports from India…. rotfloho…. That would solve Ohio’s problems as well as put the Democrats into a snit

WE DON’T WANT THE **DRUGS**, we want decent HUMAN NUTRITIONAL AND FUNCTIONAL MEDICAL SYSTEMS & PRACTITIONERS…. cancel the ‘drugs’……… lol, face-clasping frustration!

  4. Despite the warnings of Big Pharma, the sort of changes being recommended here have not resulted in “patient harms from an influx of bogus drugs” in Australia. In fact all they have resulted in is patient benefits secondary to not being fleeced by greedy pharmaceutical companies.
