De-licensed MD Stephen Barrett (and several of his henchmen) got sued last Monday, July 23, 2001 in Alameda Superior Court in California. The quackbusters were charged, among other things, with Racketeering (RICO), Violation of Civil Rights, Abuse of Process, and Malicious Prosecution.
And, it’s only the beginning…
Opinion by Tim Bolen
Barrett, and his bludgeon squad, have for years assaulted America’s finest health leaders – those that spurn the heavy use of dangerous drugs in favor of more natural remedies. I believe they do this to STOP medical/health research that is not DRUG related.
No studies have (yet) been done to determine how many American have suffered and/or died because of quackbuster activities to suppress non-drug research.
BUT NOW, the quackbuster operation has a BIG PROBLEM of its own. The lawsuit described at www.savedrclark.org “Breaking News,” and www.healthfreedomlaw.com, is going to be VERY EXPENSIVE for them – all of a sudden. I’m not an attorney, but still I’m going to estimate that their case will cost them somewhere around $750,000 to $2,000.000 in legal fees. Even the small defendants are going to have to cough up $100,000 in fees, apiece. There are 31 defendants…
Now, Barrett claims he’s retired, and does this quackbusting stuff “as a hobby.” He gave up his medical license in 1993, or thereabouts. So where’s his income coming from for all the lawsuits he’s involved himself in?
We are about to find out…
The most important thing, in the counter-assault against the quackbusters, is to find out who’s running them. The money for their legal fees is going to come from somewhere – and that “someone” is going to be the target for the entire health freedom movement.
I can’t wait to see who it is…
