Day One:  Bobbie Sweats Thru His K-Mart Suit…

When top quackbuster Robert S. Baratz MD, DDS, PhD walked up the Wisconsin’s Department of Regulation (DORL) hallway towards hearing room 291, at 8:55am, and saw me (Tim Bolen) standing there talking to a uniformed Capitol Police officer, Arthur Thexton, the DORL attorney, almost had to carry Baratz the last fifty feet into the room.  Baratz looked like a death row prisoner heading towards the gas chamber.

Good comparison.

When the hearing started, and Baratz took the witness stand, he looked on the edge of a heart attack.  Immediately he started gasping, and chokingly asked the Judge for water.  He couldn’t proceed.  Bobbie’s day, was here.

Attorney Frank Recker, sensing Baratz’s imminent expiration, started out slowly.  After all, a dead witness wouldn’t be able to answer the questions Frank Recker needed the answers too…

But suddenly, the Judge called a halt to the proceedings, because the room was filling up with spectators  – to beyond capacity.  Extra chairs were immediately sought, but soon those filled, and the hallway outside was jam-packed.  The Judge stopped the proceedings one more time.  DORL employees dashed downstairs and interrupted the Physical Therapy Board meeting, moving them to a smaller room, so that the crowd could be accommodated.  The whole meeting moved.

But it wasn’t long before Baratz nearly croaked a second time.  At 10:40am, one of our team signaled to me from the hallway.  Out of the room I went to accompany a kindly, frail, little, 75 year old lady into a hearing room seat right behind Frank Recker.  Florence Wilson MD had arrived…

And, Bobbie now had an idea of how bad this hearing was going to be for him.  His reaction to Doctor Wilson’s entrance is on video tape.

Who’s Florence Wilson MD?  She’s the one Bobbie sued for 3 million dollars in 2001 claiming that she had “physically assaulted him repeatedly at Harbor Health Services, causing him to be permanently disabled, and unable to work as a doctor from 1998 to 2002.”  The case was dismissed.

And so it went…

During a break, in the afternoon, when the Judge and the attorneys were in chambers, I asked Doctor Wilson to stand, turned her around, got the audience’s attention, and introduced her as “this is the woman who beat the crap out of Bobbie Baratz…”  The audience cheered.  Many hugged her.  Some asked if she “gave classes.”  Several asked if “she’d do it again, today, before she left for the airport.”

Needless to say, Frank Recker had the evidence of the REAL REASON why Bobbie was, and is, unemployed in the Boston area.  Letters, court documents, etc.

And, so it went…

And, this morning, I’m heading for the hearing room to hear more of the Bobbie Baratz story.  So far, the records are showing that Bobbie has been fired from EVERY job he’s ever had.  And the story gets better and better, and better…

Stay tuned…
